Recover the Sleep Opportunities Falling Out of the Care Pathway

Nuvory identifies patients who fall between consultation, sleep testing, diagnosis, therapy and follow-up, helping your practice recover care and revenue opportunities already within your patient population.

What is sleep center revenue leakage?

Sleep center revenue leakage is care a sleep patient needed but never received because they dropped out of the pathway. A referral is never booked. A sleep study is ordered but not done. A diagnosis has no therapy plan. A PAP patient misses follow-up. Nuvory is healthcare revenue leakage intelligence that finds each break in the pathway and ranks who to reach first.

Why does sleep medicine leak at every step?

Sleep care is an ordered sequence. Each step depends on the one before it. A patient must be referred, seen, tested, diagnosed, started on therapy and followed up. A miss at any step stops everything after it.

The steps also happen in different places. Consults happen in clinic, studies in the sleep lab or at home, and therapy setup through an equipment supplier. Each has its own schedule. No one sees the whole pathway, so a patient who stalls can go unnoticed for months.

Many payers look for a follow-up visit after PAP therapy starts. When that visit is missed, the patient's care and coverage can both suffer. The practice loses the visit, and often the patient's trust in therapy.

  • Ordered sequence Each missed step blocks every step after it.
  • Separate schedules Clinic, sleep lab, home testing and suppliers each run their own.
  • Results without a plan An abnormal study may have no result visit or therapy order.
  • Therapy follow-up PAP patients who miss follow-up can lose both care and coverage.

Where do patients fall out of the sleep care pathway?

Nuvory checks every step of the pathway for each patient and flags the first step that didn't happen.

  1. ReferralReferral received, but the consult was never scheduled.
  2. ConsultationConsult completed, but no sleep study ordered or booked when one was planned.
  3. Sleep studyIn-lab or home study ordered, scheduled or cancelled, but not completed.
  4. DiagnosisStudy resulted, but no result visit to review it with the patient.
  5. Therapy / PAPOSA diagnosed, but therapy, titration or a repeat study never progressed.
  6. Follow-upPAP or annual follow-up visit missed and never rebooked.

How does Nuvory follow each patient through the sleep pathway?

Every night, Nuvory reads referrals, appointments, sleep study orders, results, diagnoses and recalls from your EHR. It links them for each patient and places the patient on the pathway. Then it finds the first step that should have happened and didn't.

A patient with a resulted study and no result visit is flagged. A patient with OSA and no therapy order is flagged. A PAP patient past the follow-up window your clinicians set is flagged. Patients already booked for the next step are left off. This turns sleep study follow-up and sleep medicine patient recall into one ranked list.

  • Referrals and consults Inbound referrals, consult dates and no-contact time, configurable.
  • Sleep study orders In-lab, home and titration studies, with status and age.
  • Results and diagnoses Resulted studies, OSA and other sleep diagnoses, and result visits.
  • Therapy and follow-up Therapy orders, follow-up visits and the intervals your clinicians set.
  • Claims and HIE (optional) Where connected, they show studies or visits completed elsewhere.

Does Nuvory read PAP device data?

Not directly today. Nuvory uses what reaches your EHR, such as therapy orders, follow-up visits and documented adherence notes. Device download data is visible only where it is recorded in the chart. Scope is confirmed during discovery.

How does Nuvory turn sleep pathway gaps into revenue and care opportunities?

Each stalled patient is a care gap and a revenue opportunity. Recovering a sleep study means a completed study, a result visit and, where your clinician decides, a therapy plan. Recovering a PAP follow-up helps the patient stay on therapy.

For leaders, Nuvory shows where in the pathway patients stall, by provider and location. You see how many patients sit at each step, how many were reached and how many completed the next step. Potential opportunities are shown separately from completed care.

  • Pathway view How many patients are stalled at each step.
  • Ranked work Items ranked by estimated value, urgency and confidence.
  • Verified outcomes Items close only when the study or visit is completed.
  • Clinician control Therapy and diagnosis decisions stay with your clinicians.

Who works the sleep medicine list?

Sleep work spans clinic, lab and suppliers. Nuvory gives each team its own ranked list.

  1. Clinical reviewerA sleep physician signs off each rule, including follow-up windows, after checking real patients.
  2. Referral coordinatorContacts new referrals with no consult booked.
  3. Sleep lab schedulerBooks open and cancelled in-lab, home and titration studies.
  4. Results follow-up staffBook result visits for studies that have none.
  5. Therapy coordinatorWorks PAP patients past their follow-up window, and patients whose therapy never started.
  6. Front deskRebooks missed follow-up and annual visits.

How does Nuvory work with sleep EHRs and separate sleep lab systems?

Nuvory works alongside your EHR and any separate sleep lab system. It does not replace them, and staff keep scheduling where they do today. Nuvory is designed to work with data from athenahealth, where the connection is live, and from Epic, eClinicalWorks and other supported EHRs through FHIR R4 APIs. Scope is confirmed during discovery.

Studies scored in a separate sleep system are visible only if the result reaches the chart. Many sleep patients are also seen in pulmonology or ENT. Nuvory can apply each service line's rules side by side. Our security page covers the BAA and data controls.

What should a sleep center test in a demo?

Ask whether a tool follows the whole pathway rather than one step, reads home and in-lab studies, skips patients already booked, and leaves diagnosis and therapy decisions with your clinicians.

Which sleep medicine numbers show follow-through?

Track a few pathway numbers by provider and location. Steps completed after outreach are compared with your baseline. This points to the effect of outreach without proving it.

Questions, answered

More in our FAQ, or ask our team.

Can Nuvory track sleep study orders that were never completed?

Yes. Nuvory matches in-lab, home and titration study orders to completed studies. Orders that were never scheduled, or scheduled and not completed, appear on the list.

Does Nuvory track home sleep tests?

Yes, where the order and result are in the EHR or a connected feed. Home tests that were ordered and not completed are treated like in-lab studies.

Can Nuvory find patients who missed PAP follow-up?

Yes. Nuvory checks patients on PAP therapy against the follow-up window your clinicians set and flags those who are past due and not booked.

Does Nuvory decide who needs therapy?

No. Diagnosis and therapy decisions stay with your sleep physicians. Nuvory flags patients whose recorded plan did not progress and routes them to your team.

Will Nuvory flag sleep patients already booked for a study or PAP follow-up?

No. Nuvory checks the schedule before a patient appears on a list. Patients booked for their study, result visit or PAP follow-up are skipped, and the item closes when that step is completed.

How is Nuvory priced for a sleep practice?

Starter is $149 per provider per month for Recall Intelligence. Growth is $299 per provider per month and adds Referral, Procedure, Scheduling, Care Management and Opportunity Intelligence. See pricing.
