What is endocrinology revenue leakage?

Endocrinology revenue leakage is care your endocrinologists planned that never happened. A diabetes patient misses the 3-month visit. A high A1c result gets no follow-up. A thyroid lab comes back abnormal and nobody books the next step. Nuvory is healthcare revenue leakage intelligence that finds these patients in your EHR and ranks who to reach first.

Why do endocrine patients slip between visits?

Endocrinology runs on repeat cycles. Diabetes, thyroid and osteoporosis patients come back every 3, 6 or 12 months, often with labs before each visit. Every cycle has the same weak points: the lab order, the result, the visit and the next visit. A miss at any point can quietly end the cycle.

The patient often feels fine, so nothing pulls them back. A patient whose A1c rose may not know it until the visit they never booked. A thyroid result flagged abnormal may sit in a results inbox while the patient waits to hear. A bone density scan ordered at a visit is done somewhere else, or not at all.

Many endocrine patients share care with primary care, nephrology and cardiology. Each team assumes another is following up. The patient falls into the gap, and the practice loses the visit, the lab work and the chance to adjust treatment.

  • Recurring cycles 3-, 6- and 12-month follow-ups are easy to lose once a visit is missed.
  • Results without a next step An abnormal lab can sit in an inbox with no visit booked.
  • Tests done elsewhere Labs and bone density scans often happen outside the practice.
  • Shared care Primary care, nephrology and cardiology all touch the same patients.

How does Nuvory find endocrine opportunities in your data?

Every night, Nuvory reads orders, results, appointments, recalls and referrals from your EHR. It links them for each patient. Then it asks one question: what should have happened next, and did it?

For a diabetes patient, it checks the last visit against the interval your provider set, and the latest A1c against your practice's threshold. For a thyroid patient, it checks whether an abnormal result has a next step. For an osteoporosis patient, it checks whether the bone density scan or follow-up visit is done. Each gap becomes one item on a ranked list. This turns endocrinology patient follow-up and diabetes patient recall into one daily list.

  • Lab orders and results A1c, thyroid, lipid and metabolic labs, with order status and result flags.
  • Visits and recalls Last visit, next visit and the follow-up interval your providers set.
  • Diagnostic orders Bone density, thyroid ultrasound and other tests, with status and age.
  • Referrals Inbound referrals with no contact after a set number of days, configurable.
  • Claims and HIE (optional) Where connected, they show labs and tests completed elsewhere.

Does Nuvory make clinical decisions about A1c or thyroid results?

No. Your endocrinologists set the thresholds and follow-up intervals, and approve every rule. Nuvory reads results already in the EHR and flags patients who have no next step. It does not diagnose, interpret results or recommend treatment.

How does Nuvory turn endocrine gaps into revenue and care opportunities?

Each item on the list is both a care gap and a revenue opportunity. A diabetes patient brought back to a missed cycle means a completed visit and labs. It also means the clinician can review treatment. Nuvory shows why each item exists, ranks it, and confirms when the care actually happened.

For leaders, Nuvory shows endocrinology care gaps by provider and location. You see how many patients are past due, how many were reached and how many completed care. You see potential opportunities first. Completed care is counted only after it happens.

  • Revenue view Open, scheduled and completed opportunities, by provider and location.
  • Care view Patients with results or follow-ups that have no next step.
  • Ranked work Items ranked by estimated value, urgency and confidence.
  • Verified outcomes Items close only when the visit or test is completed.

Who works the endocrinology list?

Each team gets its own ranked list, built from the same data.

  1. Clinical reviewerAn endocrinologist signs off each rule, including A1c thresholds and follow-up intervals, after checking real patients.
  2. Recall coordinatorWorks patients lost from their diabetes, thyroid or osteoporosis cycle, highest priority first.
  3. Results follow-up nurseWorks abnormal results with no next step, and routes questions to the clinician.
  4. SchedulersBook open lab, bone density and imaging orders, and rebook missed visits.
  5. Referral coordinatorContacts new referrals that never booked a first visit.
  6. Care management leadReviews patients who may be candidates for CCM or RPM with clinicians. Nothing is enrolled without clinician approval and patient consent.

How does Nuvory work with endocrinology EHRs and outside labs?

Nuvory works alongside your EHR. It does not replace it, and staff keep scheduling where they do today. Nuvory is designed to work with data from athenahealth, where the connection is live, and from Epic, eClinicalWorks and other supported EHRs through FHIR R4 APIs. Where the EHR supports it, bulk export and SMART on FHIR are also used. Scope is confirmed during discovery.

You can also start a 30-day pilot with data you already have. Results from outside labs are visible only if they reach the chart or a connected feed. Our security page covers the BAA and data controls.

What should an endocrinology practice test in a demo?

Ask whether a tool reads the follow-up intervals and lab thresholds your providers set, skips patients already booked, follows labs done at outside labs, and keeps clinical decisions with your clinicians.

Which endocrinology numbers show follow-through?

Start with a few numbers tracked by provider and location. Care completed after outreach is compared with your baseline. This points to the effect of outreach without proving it.

Questions, answered

More in our FAQ, or ask our team.

Can Nuvory find diabetes patients who are overdue for follow-up?

Yes. Nuvory compares each patient's last visit with the follow-up interval your provider set, checks the schedule, and flags patients who are past due and not booked.

How does Nuvory use A1c results?

Your endocrinologists choose the threshold. Nuvory reads A1c results already in the EHR and flags patients above that threshold with no follow-up visit. It does not interpret results or recommend treatment.

Does Nuvory track abnormal thyroid labs?

Yes, where results are flagged abnormal in the EHR. Nuvory shows results that have no visit, repeat lab or other next step recorded, and routes them to your team.

Can Nuvory track bone density scans for osteoporosis patients?

Yes, where the order and result are in the EHR or a connected feed. Ordered scans that were never completed, and patients overdue for their next scan or visit, appear on the list.

Will Nuvory flag diabetes patients who already have a visit or A1c booked?

No. Nuvory checks the schedule before a patient appears on a list. A diabetes or thyroid patient with a visit or lab draw booked inside the window is skipped, and the item closes when care is completed.

How is Nuvory priced for an endocrinology practice?

Starter is $149 per provider per month for Recall Intelligence. Growth is $299 per provider per month and adds Referral, Procedure, Scheduling, Care Management and Opportunity Intelligence. See pricing.
