What is ENT revenue leakage?

ENT revenue leakage is care an otolaryngology practice planned that never happened. A referral is never seen. An audiogram or sinus CT is ordered but not done. A procedure candidate never books surgery. A post-procedure visit is missed. Nuvory is healthcare revenue leakage intelligence that finds these patients in your EHR and ranks who to reach first.

Why do ENT patients fall through between steps?

ENT care has many hand-offs. A patient moves from evaluation to testing, from testing to a result, from a result to a procedure, and from a procedure to follow-up. Each move is a chance to drop out.

Testing often happens outside the exam room. Audiology runs its own schedule. Sinus CTs and other imaging may be done at an outside center. Sleep evaluations may go to a separate sleep medicine team. When a result comes back, someone must book the next step. Often no one does.

Procedure candidates are a common gap. A patient is told they may benefit from a procedure, then delays to think about it, check coverage or fit it into work. Without a reminder, many never come back. Post-procedure and surveillance patients can drift the same way.

  • Many hand-offs Evaluation, testing, results, procedure and follow-up each carry risk.
  • Testing outside the clinic Audiology, imaging and sleep studies run on separate schedules.
  • Stalled procedure candidates Patients who need time to decide often never return.
  • Long-term surveillance Patients on recurring follow-up are easy to lose.

How does Nuvory find ENT opportunities across evaluation, testing and procedures?

Every night, Nuvory reads referrals, appointments, orders, results, procedures and recalls from your EHR. It links them for each patient. Then it finds the step that should have happened next and didn't.

An audiogram ordered with no completed test is flagged. A sinus CT that resulted with no visit is flagged. A patient recommended for a procedure with nothing scheduled is flagged, where the recommendation is recorded. A post-procedure visit past its window is flagged. Patients already booked are left off. This turns ENT patient recall, audiology follow-up and sinus patient follow-up into one ranked list.

  • Referrals Inbound referrals with no contact after a set number of days, configurable.
  • Audiology and imaging orders Hearing tests, sinus CTs and other imaging, with status and age.
  • Results Resulted tests with or without a follow-up visit.
  • Procedures and plans Recommended and completed procedures, where recorded, and post-procedure visits.
  • Claims and HIE (optional) Where connected, they show tests or procedures done elsewhere.

Does Nuvory decide who needs a procedure?

No. Your surgeons decide. Nuvory reads plans and orders already recorded in the EHR and flags patients whose next step did not happen. It does not interpret audiograms or imaging.

How does Nuvory turn ENT gaps into revenue and care opportunities?

Each stalled step is a care gap and a revenue opportunity. A completed audiogram can lead to a hearing follow-up. A completed sinus CT can lead to a result visit and a treatment decision. A procedure candidate who returns gets the care your surgeon recommended.

For leaders, Nuvory shows ENT opportunities by provider, location and service line, including audiology. You see open, scheduled and completed opportunities side by side. Potential value is shown separately from completed care.

  • Service line view ENT, audiology and sinus opportunities in one place.
  • Ranked work Items ranked by estimated value, urgency and confidence.
  • Verified outcomes Items close only when the test, visit or procedure is completed.
  • Clinician control Every rule is approved by your clinicians.

Who works the ENT list?

ENT work spans clinic, audiology, imaging and surgery scheduling. Each team gets its own ranked list.

  1. Clinical reviewerAn otolaryngologist signs off each rule, including follow-up windows, after checking real patients.
  2. Referral coordinatorContacts new referrals with no visit booked.
  3. Audiology schedulerBooks open hearing tests and hearing follow-up visits.
  4. Imaging and results staffBook open sinus imaging and result visits that have none.
  5. Surgery schedulerFollows up with procedure candidates who never scheduled.
  6. Front deskRebooks missed post-procedure and surveillance visits.

How does Nuvory work with ENT EHRs and audiology systems?

Nuvory works alongside your EHR and any separate audiology system. It does not replace them, and staff keep scheduling where they do today. Nuvory is designed to work with data from athenahealth, where the connection is live, and from Epic, ModMed and other supported EHRs through FHIR R4 APIs. Scope is confirmed during discovery.

Audiology results kept only in a separate system are visible only if they reach the chart. Many ENT patients also see sleep medicine or pulmonology. Nuvory can apply each service line's rules side by side. Our security page covers the BAA and data controls.

What should an ENT practice test in a demo?

Ask whether a tool follows audiology and imaging done outside the clinic, tracks procedure candidates, skips patients already booked, and keeps clinical decisions with your surgeons.

Which ENT numbers show follow-through?

Track a few numbers by provider and location. Care completed after outreach is compared with your baseline. This points to the effect of outreach without proving it.

Questions, answered

More in our FAQ, or ask our team.

Can Nuvory track audiology tests that were never completed?

Yes, where hearing tests are ordered or scheduled in the EHR. Nuvory matches them to completed tests and flags those that were never done.

Does Nuvory track sinus CTs done at outside imaging centers?

Yes, if the result reaches the EHR or a connected feed. If not, staff can mark the order done elsewhere with a reason.

Can Nuvory find patients who never scheduled a recommended procedure?

Yes, where the recommendation is recorded as an order, plan or recall in the EHR. Nuvory flags patients with nothing scheduled and routes them to your surgery scheduler.

Does Nuvory cover sleep-related ENT care?

Yes. Sleep evaluations and referrals are tracked like other orders. If you also run a sleep program, see sleep medicine.

Will Nuvory flag ENT patients who already have an audiogram or visit booked?

No. Nuvory checks the schedule before a patient appears on a list. Patients with an audiogram, imaging review or post-procedure visit booked inside the window are skipped, and the item closes when care is completed.

How is Nuvory priced for an ENT practice?

Starter is $149 per provider per month for Recall Intelligence. Growth is $299 per provider per month and adds Referral, Procedure, Scheduling, Care Management and Opportunity Intelligence. See pricing.
