Close the Loop on Every PFT, Sleep Study and Nodule Scan
Find pulmonary function tests and sleep studies ordered but never done, lung nodule follow-up imaging that lapsed, COPD patients overdue for a visit, and referrals that never booked.
What is pulmonology revenue intelligence?
Pulmonology revenue intelligence finds the pulmonary tests and follow-ups that should have followed a visit but did not: open PFT and sleep study orders, nodule follow-up imaging past the date your pulmonologist set, COPD and asthma patients overdue for follow-up, and referrals never seen. Nuvory is healthcare revenue leakage intelligence that ranks them so your team knows who to reach first.
Why does pulmonary care leak after the visit?
Pulmonary care leaks because the most important work often happens after the visit, in a different department. PFTs are scheduled in the lab, sleep studies through a sleep center or a home testing workflow, and CT scans at imaging. Each has its own scheduler, and the pulmonologist sees the result only if the test happens.
Lung nodule follow-up is a long-interval problem. A pulmonologist may set a follow-up scan months or a year out based on the nodule and the patient's risk. Patients who feel fine forget, the order expires, and the gap stays invisible until someone audits the nodule list by hand.
Sleep medicine has a chain of steps: the study, the result visit, therapy setup through a supplier, and an early follow-up visit where the clinician reviews how therapy is going. Many payers look for that follow-up. When a patient misses it, both care and coverage can suffer.
- Tests scheduled outside the clinic PFT labs, sleep centers and imaging run separate schedules.
- Long nodule intervals Follow-up dates months away are easy to lose.
- Sleep therapy hand-offs Suppliers and clinicians both touch the patient, and neither may own the follow-up visit.
- Exacerbation follow-up A post-hospital COPD visit that is not booked at discharge can go missing. Nuvory sees these where discharge information reaches your EHR or a connected HIE feed (Enterprise).
Which tests and follow-ups do pulmonology practices lose?
Pulmonology leakage hides in diagnostics and surveillance. The visit happened; the test or the scan that should follow it did not.
PFTs not completed
Spirometry and full pulmonary function tests ordered at a visit and never scheduled in the PFT lab.

Follow-up CT that is past the date your pulmonologist set for a nodule, and screening scans past the date your clinicians set.
Learn moreCOPD and asthma visits missed
Patients overdue for follow-up, including after an exacerbation or hospital stay, with no new date.
Learn moreReferrals never seen
Primary care and hospital referrals for abnormal imaging, dyspnea or suspected sleep apnea with no contact.

How does pulmonology revenue intelligence link orders, scans and visits?
Nuvory reads orders, results, imaging, appointments, recalls and referrals from your EHR every night and links them per patient. It matches PFT, sleep study and CT orders to completed tests, compares nodule follow-up dates with what is booked, and checks chronic patients' last visit against the follow-up their provider set. That makes pulmonary test order tracking and pulmonology patient recall one list instead of three, rather than the separate reports pulmonology analytics software usually produces.
- Diagnostic orders PFT, sleep study, bronchoscopy and imaging orders with status and age.
- Recalls and imaging history Prior CT dates and the follow-up date your clinicians entered for each nodule.
- Diagnoses and visits COPD, asthma, interstitial lung disease, sleep apnea and other conditions, with last and next visit.
- Referrals Inbound referrals with no contact after 7 days or no visit after 14, configurable, for pulmonology referral tracking.
- Claims and HIE (optional) Where connected, they show tests and scans completed elsewhere.
Does Nuvory decide nodule follow-up intervals?
No. Your pulmonologists set follow-up intervals, often using published guidelines and their own judgment, and record them in the EHR. Nuvory reads those dates and flags patients who are past due and not booked. It does not interpret imaging.
How do PFT, sleep and nodule coordinators use Nuvory?
Pulmonology work spans clinic, lab and imaging. Nuvory gives each team its own ranked list.
- Clinical reviewerA pulmonologist signs off each rule, including nodule and sleep follow-up rules, after spot-checking real patients.
- Referral coordinatorWorks new referrals with no contact, with the referring provider and reason attached where recorded.
- PFT and sleep schedulersWork open PFT and sleep study orders, ranked by estimated value, urgency and confidence.
- Nodule program coordinatorWorks overdue follow-up CTs, oldest and highest-confidence first, and books the scan with imaging.
- Front desk and MAsRebook missed COPD and sleep follow-up visits, and raise open tests at visits already booked.
- Care management leadReviews CCM and RTM candidates with clinicians. Nothing is enrolled without clinician approval and patient consent.

How does Nuvory work with pulmonology EHRs and separate PFT or sleep systems?
Nuvory works alongside your EHR and any separate sleep or PFT systems. It does not replace them, and staff keep scheduling where they do today. Nuvory is designed to work with data from athenahealth, where the connection is live, and from Epic, eClinicalWorks and other supported EHRs through FHIR R4 APIs and, where the EHR supports it and your organization enables it, bulk export and SMART on FHIR. Scope and data availability are confirmed during discovery.
Results that stay in a separate sleep or PFT system may not be visible unless they reach the chart. Discovery confirms which data is available and how your nodule follow-up is recorded. Our security page covers the BAA and data controls.
What should a pulmonology group test in a demo?
Ask whether a tool follows tests scheduled outside the clinic, reads nodule intervals your clinicians set instead of its own, tracks sleep therapy follow-up visits, and keeps care management decisions with clinicians.
Which pulmonology numbers show follow-through?
Start with a few numbers tracked by site and pulmonologist. Tests completed after detection are compared with your baseline, which points to the effect of outreach without proving it.
| Metric | What it shows |
|---|---|
| PFT order completion | Ordered PFTs completed, and how long the rest have waited. |
| Sleep study completion | Ordered studies completed and followed by a result visit. |
| Nodule follow-up on schedule | Patients due for follow-up CT with a booked or completed scan. |
| Therapy follow-up visit completed | Patients started on sleep therapy seen for the follow-up your clinicians set. |
| COPD follow-up after discharge | Post-hospital visits booked within the window your providers set. |
| Referral to first visit | Inbound referrals seen, by source. |

Questions, answered
More in our FAQ, or ask our team.
Can Nuvory track lung nodule follow-up?
Yes, where the follow-up date is recorded as a recall or order in the EHR. Nuvory flags patients past that date without a booked or completed scan. Your pulmonologists set the interval; Nuvory does not interpret imaging or make clinical decisions.
Does Nuvory track sleep studies ordered by a pulmonary clinic?
Yes, where the order and result are in the EHR. Home and in-lab studies that were ordered and not completed appear on the list, as do patients without the result visit or therapy follow-up your clinicians set.
Can Nuvory follow PFTs scheduled in a separate lab?
Yes, if the completed test or result reaches the EHR or a connected feed. If not, staff can mark the order done elsewhere with a reason.
Does Nuvory find patients for CCM or RTM?
Nuvory flags patients who may be candidates for CCM or RTM based on available data and routes them to clinician review. Nothing is enrolled without clinician approval and patient consent. Clinical validation may be required.
Will Nuvory flag COPD or asthma patients who already have a visit booked?
No. Nuvory checks the schedule before a patient appears on a list. A COPD, asthma or sleep patient booked inside the follow-up window is skipped, and the item closes when the visit or test is completed.
How is Nuvory priced for a pulmonology practice?
Starter is $149 per provider per month for Recall Intelligence. Growth is $299 per provider per month and adds Referral, Procedure, Scheduling, Care Management and Opportunity Intelligence. See pricing.
